本剧改编自同名漫画，讲述了一心一意思念青梅竹马的爽朗受欢迎男子田中一仁，和擅长家务的淳朴男子夏川凉太之间的关系。故事从2人以升入大学为契机开始合租房间而展开。夏川知道了一仁喜欢的人是自己，开始意识到一仁的存在，从此一段坚强而笨拙的恋爱故事就此展开。
本剧讲述了望野镇在2008年爆发连环杀人案，桐生葵在其中失去了亲人、朋友和爱情，而父亲成为了嫌犯被捕。16年后，刑警葵回故乡调查真相，发现了同学可能是嫌犯，而她的搭档香坂慧则监视怀疑着葵。在追查过程中，她揭露了同学们的真相和慧的过去，以及两起事件的联系。而后，一个隐藏了16年的真相随之浮出水面。
